Why concrete?

Concrete water tanks are durable, highly fire resistant and able to withstand heavy loads – making them ideal as underground water tanks. Although concrete water tanks are more expensive than poly tanks, they’re generally stronger and better at keeping your water cool throughout the year. Given the high load-bearing capacity of concrete, many customers (particularly when building a new home) use the tank roof as a base for a clothesline or pergola.

ACT Concrete Water Tanks builds its own high-quality concrete water storage tanks, ranging in size from 10,000 litres to 120,000 litres. All of our tanks feature lockable manholes, 100mm PVC inlets / overflow and concrete roofs rated at 3 kPa.

10,000 litres – pre-cast concrete tank manufactured in our own facility (transportable and underground only) – 2.4 metres in height; 2.4 metres in diameter.
20,000 litres – poured on site (ready mix concrete) – 2.4 metres in height; 3.4 metres in diameter.
90,000 litres – poured on site (ready mix concrete) – 2.4 metres in height; 7.5 metres in diameter.
120,000 litres – poured on site (ready mix concrete) – 2.4 metres in height; 8.5 metres in diameter.

None of the concrete tanks that we “pour on site” have floor-wall joins – making leakage less likely.
