No. ACT Concrete Water Tanks believes that it’s better not to use vinyl, rubber or plastic tank liners. In our experience, concrete tanks (without liners) help to neutralise the slight natural acidity of rainwater. The natural acidity in rainwater can also “eat” away at tank liner materials (vinyl, rubber, plastic) over time.

Our standard concrete water tanks aren’t designed for buoyancy, but can be customised (at additional cost) for buoyancy. If you’re seeking buoyancy in your concrete tank, you must discuss this with us prior to construction.

No. Our concrete water tanks are available in only four sizes: 10,000 litres, 20,000 litres, 90,000 litres and 120,000 litres. The reason for not building custom tanks is that we use large metal formwork and pour through the middle.

Yes. All our tanks are compliant with both Australian Standards: AS3600 (Concrete Structures) and AS3735 (Concrete Structures for Retaining Liquids).
